The Asclepius Medical Camp for Youth is an initiative aimed at increasing the enrollment of underrepresented populations in medical school. The goal is to demonstrate that a career in medicine is attainable, regardless of background, by demystifying the path to medical school and sparking interest among participants. The camp features a variety of hands-on activities, speaker presentations, group discussions, and interactive sessions that simulate a typical day in the life of a medical student.
Camps are free to attend, with lunch provided daily for all participants. Camps are open to ALL grade 9 to 12 students regardless of classroom marks.
Apply by June 6th (camp is July 7-11 at the U of A)

Students in the Ag Program learn about local agriculture and plant a garden here at HRA. In the spring, students work the soil to prepare it for planting. They plant the seeds and seedlings, and then tend the plants and pull weeds. In the fall we harvest the garden produce and sell it, or process it in the freeze dryer for future sales. Local farmers and experts visit the class and present to students on various topics. Students will be able to sign up to take the agriculture class when option forms go out!
